HCC Update (June 25, 2020)

This Coming Sunday (June 28th)

Morning Message: Josh Davis will continue our series of messages from Romans 12 called Re-purposed. This week's message is called 'Relationship Goals'. Check out Romans 12:14-15 if you'd like to read ahead.

Special Prayer Time: Part of the morning service will be our participation in the 'Call 2 Fall' national prayer movement. Churches from all across the nation are setting aside a time during worship on June 28th to, as 2 Chronicles 7:14 puts it, 'humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways'. In-Person Children’s Classes to Resume Sunday, July 19th
We are taking the first step towards resuming children’s programming at HCC by offering children’s worship classes during the 10:30a service beginning Sunday, July 19th.  Here’s what you need to know:
Leann will teach a class for children age 2 through preschool.

  • Sandy will offer a class for children in kindergarten through 6th grade.
  • We recognize that social distancing will be a challenge for children and that we cannot eliminate all risk.  To mitigate the risks involved in bringing the children together, classes will meet in spaces large enough to provide adequate distancing and the best air circulation possible.
  • To minimize the risks to children, all areas where children will meet will be wiped down and sanitized in advance, including restrooms, water fountains, tables, craft supplies, and toys in the play areas.
  • The nursey will continue to serve as a designated cry room for parents to take their small children if needed.  This room will be cleaned, but not staff with volunteers.
  • Changes will be made to the procedures of dropping off and picking up children to provide a touch-free process, and to reduce the number of adults waiting at the check-in desk at the close of the service.  More information about these changes will be communicated in the near future.

It is our hope that we can return to normal operations in the HCC children’s ministry program on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings beginning Sunday, September 6.  At that time, children will be promoted to the appropriate class based on their age/grade in school.  If you have any questions about the plans to resume children’s programming, please contact Leann or Sandy.

3/3rds Small Groups are Continuing to Form

One of our goals for 2020 is to see a substantial increase in small group participation. These groups meet both ONLINE (On Zoom) and ON-SITE (In Homes). Joining a small group is an excellent way to find a deeper connection with God's Word and with God's people.  CLICK HERE TO CONNECT TO A SMALL GROUP

Midweek Bible Study Will Be Online-Only On July 1st

The midweek Bible study will be online-only this coming Wednesday, July 1st. The video teaching for that evening can be accessed at THIS LINK

About the Wednesday Evening Studies: While we're currently finishing a chapter-by-chapter study of the book of Joshua, the overall purpose of the midweek study time in the Fireside Room is to compliment our 3/3rds small groups and Sunday morning messages by providing a 'deep dive' into the key doctrines of the Christian faith.

At-Home Children's Materials
We are most grateful for the great ministry Sandy and Leann continue to provide for kids and parents of HCC. Through the course of this pandemic, they've distributed countless Bible-learning activities and worksheets to help kids stay connected to each other and the Lord.
