EXPERIENCE HEATH CHURCH OF CHRIST
We want to be the kind of church you read about in the New Testament.
Acts 2:42 (NIV) describes the church like this: They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
Our worship service today is made up of the things found in the Acts 2:42 church. We fellowship (share life together), we break bread together around the Lord’s Table, we pray together and we listen to God’s Word (apostles’ teaching).
SUNDAY MORING WORSHIP
A typical morning at HCC consists of the opportunity to raise our voices together in praise, remembering through communion, hearing from God's word through a sermon, and emphasizing a life of faith through scripture reading, prayer, encouraging videos, and opportunities to live for Jesus beyond Sunday morning. Here, you are invited to come as you are and challenged to grow closer to God as you continue to experience His presence and understand His purposes. Following each service, anyone who desires to follow Christ or wants to take next steps toward engaging deeper with God or our church community to invited to approach the ministry staff, who is available up front afterward.
We try to make everyone who comes through our doors feel comfortable and welcomed. We don't imply a dress code and you'll certainly notice attenders dress in an arraying variety of styles. Our aim is that you feel "at home" when you come to worship with us. As we sing, our worship band leads through a selection of songs each week. At HCC, our only focus is that we sing songs that honor God. He is the reason we worship. He alone gets the praise. To get a taste of the songs you're likely to hear at HCC, you can engage our Spotify playlist.
WHY WE EXIST
REACH PEOPLE FOR JESUS CHRIST
" . . . go and make disciples . . . " is the core mission Jesus gave us. Everything we do as the Heath Church of Christ is focused on this purpose -- making disciples who make disciples. "One day as Jesus was walking along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew throwing a net into the water, for they fished for a living. Jesus called out to them, 'Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!' And they left their nets at once and followed him." (Mark 1:16-18 NLV)
TEACH PEOPLE THE WORD OF GOD
"Teach these new disciples . . . " Teach is a huge part of the process of disciple making (the process of becoming like Christ). Through learning God's Word, we discover who God is and his desires for our lives. "All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right." (2 Timothy 3:16 NLT)
EQUP CHRISTIANS FOR SERVICE
" . . . to obey all the commands I have given you." Jesus said, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.” (Mark 12:29-31 NLT) As disciples we imitate Jesus who expressed love through serving others.
